privacy policy
1. Information We Collect
Account information: your email address (used for authentication) and a display name you choose.
Content you create: photos you post as proof, captions, reactions, nudges, and tribe memberships.
Device & usage data: device type, operating system, app version, and basic interaction logs (e.g. posts created, reactions given) used to operate and improve the service.
Push notification token: if you grant notification permission, a device token is stored so we can send you nudges and reminders.
Subscription data: if you purchase Floof+, we receive a subscription status from Apple/Google/RevenueCat. We never receive your full payment details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Authenticate your account and keep you signed in
- Show your posts, reactions, and progress to other members of your tribes
- Send push notifications (nudges, reminders) if you have opted in
- Process and verify Floof+ subscriptions
- Detect abuse and enforce our Terms
- Fix bugs and improve the app
3. How Your Information Is Shared
Your display name, posts, reactions, and tribe activity are visible to the other members of the tribes you join. That is the core purpose of the app.
We do not sell personal information.
We share limited data with the service providers we rely on to run Floof:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
- Expo / EAS Updates — delivering app updates
- Apple and Google — App Store / Play Store distribution, in-app purchases, push notification delivery
- RevenueCat — subscription management
Each provider has its own privacy policy and processes data on our behalf.
4. Camera & Photo Access
Floof requests camera access so you can capture photo proof. Photos you post are uploaded to our storage (Supabase) and shown to your tribe. We do not scan or analyze photo content with third-party services.
5. Data Retention
We retain account data until you delete your account (see section 7). We may keep anonymized tribe activity (posts, reactions with no personal identifier attached) so that tribes you participated in still have their history.
6. Your Rights
- Access a copy of your personal data — email support@gofloof.com
- Correct inaccurate data — edit your profile in Settings, or contact us
- Delete your account — see section 7
- Opt out of notifications — in your device's notification settings
7. Account Deletion
You can delete your account in Settings → Delete Account. When you do:
- Your personal identifiers (email, display name) are anonymized in our database
- You are removed from all tribes
- Nudges you have sent or received are permanently deleted
- Your authentication record is deleted, so the same email address can register a fresh account
- Your posts and reactions remain visible to your former tribes as part of their shared history, but are no longer linked to your identity
This approach lets your tribe keep its shared record while removing your personal connection to it. Deletion cannot be undone. If you need a full hard-delete (including post imagery) for legal reasons such as GDPR erasure, email support@gofloof.com.
8. Children's Privacy
Floof is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures — encrypted transport (HTTPS), authenticated APIs, and access-controlled storage — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected users of any breach we become aware of, as required by law.
10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information. To exercise these rights, email support@gofloof.com.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use after the change constitutes acceptance.
12. Contact
