pact (formerly gympact) proved that peer-to-peer accountability can work at scale. at its peak, the idea of winning money for working out was a massive draw.
but it also proved that money-based models are a nightmare to verify. when their auto-verification failed, they charged people who actually finished their goals. floof takes the social part of pact but leaves the money out of it, so there is nothing to dispute.
